Menopause or Depression or Anxiety or...

what? I find myself more grumpy than usual. I don't like my students very much. I don't like my own children very much. I can't seem to get anything done. I'm behind on lesson plans. I don't want to clean my house. (Ok, that's nothing new, but I really can't get off my bum and do it.)

With everything going on, it wouldn't be a wonder if I were in a situational depression. But then again, it could be menopause too.

TMI Warning
I haven't had a period since last summer, although I had some spotting last month. I've had hot flashes and night sweats--except for last month when they stopped for a couple of weeks while I was spotting. I've got an appointment with my internist at the end of the month, but I'm going to call and see if they can work me in sooner. I don't like feeling like this. I take the dog for a walk every day, so I'm getting sunshine and exercise. I'm taking my vitamins and fish oil. I need to get my new thyroid prescription, so that's a possibility. And I've put myself on a diet--but not a YOU-HAVE-TO-LOSE-WEIGHT-NOW kind of diet. I weigh in tomorrow--so we'll see how I've done this week.
So...hoping to get this worked out quickly.

Hopefully your doctor can fit you in and you can get to the bottom of this. It's no fun feeling like that.

I think you are doing the right things and asking the right questions. It could be either, or, or both. Going to the doctor is smart. I hope you start feeling better.

Oh and you do have to take into account that as far as chool goes - April and May are the hardest months. There are NO breaks and you are soooo tired from being energetic, creative and enthusiastic the last three quarters. It's burn out time!

That's very true, Gina. I just know I've never been this "grumpy" wtih my students before--at least not when they didn't deserve it!
