We all survived the first week of school. And honestly, somewhat surprisingly, it went pretty darn smoothly.
For me - I only had about three criers in my kinder classes. Two the first day, one yesterday. Not bad. In their actual classrooms, they had a lot more so I count myself lucky. But overall, everyone was fairly well-behaved and we had a good time. We'll see what happens this week when they have to actually start learning something. ;-)
Chris - good first week. Didn't have to change any classes. He's planning to audition for the fall musical - "Guys and Dolls." :::sniff, sniff::: I'm so proud. A little surprised as that's not usually his personality - at least around his parents.
Chris did have a good laugh at me this week. He started seminary on Wednesday. Friday morning, I got up and started getting ready for the day. At 6:15 I realized I hadn't heard him, hadn't checked on him - nothing. Seminary starts at 6:00. I texted him, knowing he would have his phone on vibrate, and asked, "Please tell me ur up and gone." I got a text a few minutes later that said, "ur up and gone." BRAT!
James - also a good first week. He's figuring out where everything is in that big ole middle school. They spent the first three days doing activities ("Ready, Set, Go!") which I think could've been two days. James hated it. He began loving it on Thursday when they got to go to the normal class schedule. He's also dealing with the 4-inch binder. Again, I think 3 inches would've been sufficient. Guess we'll see.
John is loving being at Camey all by himself. Although he did mention on Thursday afternoon that he wished he had someone to play with in the room after school. So maybe he misses his brother just a little bit. :-) He's in a really good class with a really good teacher. It should be a good year.
Richard had a good first week too. He said that he's got some good kids this year so far. He's teaching all Algebra 2, which he swears gets a bit boring, but if the first week is any indication, it should be a better year for all of us.
Let's hope so!

I'm glad thins went smoothly. All I know is that I was exhausted by Friday and I'm NOT a teacher! Kudos to you!
